The work of DCAG, is done by a loyal and dedicated group of parent volunteers and advocates dedicated to supporting Black families. Members of the DCAG represent the diversity that exists within the Black community.
DCAG represent the interests of the Black community on key Advisory Groups within the Durham Police, Durham Children’s Aid Society and the provincial Anti-Racism Directorate, just to name a few.
Our team
Team Member
Is the advocacy coordinator of DCAG. She leads the efforts to promote and protect the rights and interests of the community members. She provides legal advice, representation, and referrals to those who face discrimination, harassment, or injustice. She also advocates for policy changes and social reforms that benefit the community.

Is the education coordinator of DCAG. He develops and facilitates educational workshops and trainings for the community members and the public. He covers topics such as financial literacy, health and wellness, cultural diversity, and civic engagement. He also coordinates with schools, colleges, and other institutions to provide educational opportunities and scholarships for the community members.

Is the volunteer coordinator of DCAG. She recruits, trains, and supervises the volunteers who support the organization’s programs and services. She matches the volunteers with the appropriate tasks and roles and provides feedback and recognition. She also organizes volunteer appreciation events and maintains the volunteer database.

Is the administrative assistant of DCAG. He provides clerical and administrative support to the organization’s staff and management. He handles the phone calls, emails, and correspondence. He also manages the office supplies, equipment, and inventory. He assists with the bookkeeping, budgeting, and reporting of the organization.

Is the social media coordinator of DCAG. She creates and posts engaging and informative content on the organization’s social media platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. She monitors and responds to the comments, messages, and reviews from the followers and fans. She also analyzes the social media metrics and trends and implements strategies to increase the online presence and reach of the organization.
Team Member
Is the fundraising coordinator of DCAG. He researches and identifies potential sources of funding for the organization, such as grants, donations, sponsorships, and partnerships. He writes and submits grant proposals and reports and follows up with the funders. He also plans and executes fundraising events and campaigns and acknowledges and thanks the donors and supporters.
Team Member
Is the evaluation coordinator of DCAG. She measures and evaluates the impact and outcomes of the organization’s programs and services. She designs and conducts surveys, interviews, focus groups, and observations with the program participants, staff, and partners. She also collects and analyzes the data and prepares and presents the evaluation reports and recommendations.
